Port Andratx
Port d’Andratx is a cosmopolitan place full of life. It is one of the best and most spectacular natural harbours of the islands, surrounded by coves with crystalline waters such as Cala Llamp, Cala Moragues and Cala d’Egos. This port town has gone from being an old fishermen’s refuge to being one of the most important and most visited tourist centres in Mallorca, thanks to its nautical activity, which favours a more exclusive residential tourism. It also has one of the best equipped marinas in the Balearic Islands, the Club de Vela de Puerto de Andratx.
The liveliest part of the town is concentrated on the promenade and on the quayside where you can find the building of La Lonja, where you can also buy fresh fish. Shops and restaurants, with pleasant terraces overlooking the sea, fill the promenade, which leads to the lighthouse and the Club de Vela, passing by the small stream of Es Saluet.
The port is home to heritage elements of great historical and architectural interest. On one hand, there are the defence towers, testimonies of the corsair threat that existed in the area, such as Sant Carles, in La Mola; or the one at number 9 on Rodríguez Acosta street, converted into a private home. On the other hand, religious architecture is represented by the church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen.
Port d’Andratx has a select hotel infrastructure and is also home to some of the most renowned restaurants on the island’s gastronomic offer. At night, it becomes one of the liveliest areas of the area.
A perfect place from where you can enjoy a splendid sunset.
